Why the Horse?
| Unbridled Business Strength |
The horse has had a strong emotional connection with humans for eons . There is a soul connectivity to the horse. Think Misty of Chincoteague, The Black Stallion, Seabiscuit, or even Mr. Ed. Horses evoke strong emotions ranging from love to fear. Standing, alone, in a ring with a 1200 pound horse is NOT the same as sitting in a classroom.
The horse is a prey animal, not a predator. Human actions in The Ring will result in an instant reaction from the horse. The reaction is real. A horse reaction is unfiltered, raw, and energetic. Standing, alone, in the ring with a 1200 pound horse is NOT the same as reading a business book.
The horse has no preconceived notions. A horse doesn't care what skin color you have, if you're male or female, what, if any, religion you practice, or how expensive your watch or car is. To the horse, you're simply a predator and not to be trusted, until you earn the trust. Standing, alone, in a ring with a 1200 pound horse is NOT the same as attending a networking session at an annual convention.
The horse must always balance between two inner horses. The behavior of horses in nature and the behavior of horses in man's world . The horse that fears man and the horse that trusts man. The horse that can be gentle and the horse that can be violent. The horse represents a balance between behaviors just as we must be balanced in business. Standing, alone, in a ring with a 1200 pound horse is NOT the same as listening to a motivational speaker talk about balance.
The horse is capable of causing severe bodily injury. "Losing" in the ring can mean death. "Losing" in business can also mean death, or perhaps, "a thousand deaths." Standing, alone, in a ring with a 1200 pound horse is NOT the same as having a consultant tell you why your business is dying.
The horse is forgiving if you make an honest mistake. Horses are tuned into our feelings as they are displayed in our body movement, tone, and attitude. But unlike humans, they don't hold a grudge if an honest mistake occurs and they truly forgive and forget. But the real question is how you can forgive and forget your own errors. Standing, alone, in a ring with a 1200 pound horse is NOT the same as telling an executive or board member what you really think.
